Music . . . the heart’s greatest librarian.
The average song is three and a half minutes long; those three and a half minutes could lead to a slow blink, a glimpse of the past, or catapult the soul into heart-shattering nostalgia.
At the height of my career, I had the life I wanted, the life I’d always envisioned. I’d found my tempo, my rhythm. Then I received a phone call that left me off key.
You see, my favorite songs had a way of playing simultaneously. I was in love with one man’s beats and another’s lyrics. But when it came to the soundtrack of a life, how could anyone choose a favorite song? So, to erase any doubt, I ditched my first-class ticket and decided to take a drive, fixed on the rearview.
And the long road home to the man who was waiting for me.

Fantastic! Could not put it down! An absolute must read!
“Torn. In love with two worthy kings, and I was queen of the damned.”
This was a story of a girl trying to find her own way in life and in the process falls in love with two great men.
This love triangle was so tastefully done. There is no back and forth and indecisiveness on the heroine’s part. You know from early on in the story who she want to to end up with.
I loved Stella’s personality. She was a Latina who was bold, sassy and someone who was impossible to ignore. Her chemistry with the hero was impossibly sexy but also heartwarming and funny.
“I’ve never in my life met a woman who needed to know so much.” “I’ve never in my life met a man who wanted to tell so little.” “Match made in hell,” he said as he bit my bottom lip.
This story spans over a few years and we see how Stella matures from a reckless teenager infatuated with rock star front men to a career driven woman who put the priority of finding herself before she committed herself in a relationship. In this aspect, the book felt like a coming of age story.
Now, the chemistry in this book was so palpable. It was consuming and so insanely sexy. Not erotic, just plain old sexy New Adult. Amazingly done! Not many New Adult books this year have given me this experience.
Bottom line, this was a fantastic read. Highly recommended!
