For this month’s challenge we have to choose an Old favorite to re-read. I chose one of my all time favorites, Thoughtless by S.C Stephens.
For almost two years now, Kiera’s boyfriend, Denny, has been everything she’s ever wanted: loving, tender and endlessly devoted to her. When they head off to a new city to start their lives together, Denny at his dream job and Kiera at a top-notch university, everything seems perfect. Then an unforeseen obligation forces the happy couple apart.
Feeling lonely, confused, and in need of comfort, Kiera turns to an unexpected source—a local rock star named Kellan Kyle. At first, he’s purely a friend that she can lean on, but as her loneliness grows, so does their relationship. And then one night everything changes… and none of them will ever be the same.
5+ I still ❤️ Kellan Kyle Stars!
This was one of my first New Adult books. The first time was a few years ago and this girl Kiera STILL made me want to throw my kindle away so many times! She was so frustrating! This is the most angsty love triangle I have ever read. Reading this book was like a never ending emotional roller coaster.
Kiera is forced to be apart from her boyfriend Denny and ends up finding comfort in Denny’s best friend and rockstar Kellan. Kellan Kyle… Sigh! I love this Swoon worthy rockstar. He has moments where he acts like a manwhore and is bitter and sarcastic but you know it’s because he loves Kiera and hates that he has to watch her and Denny together. My sweet man… I felt his pain all over again.
So yes there is cheating in this book. Poor, poor Denny. This time around I think I felt more sorry for him. Kiera and Kellan were literally sneaking around right in front of him. I wanted to scream at Kiera to just make a choice already. I don’t think there ever was a more indecisive heroine. She was deceiving Denny and playing with Kellan’s emotions.
I obviously don’t condone the behaviour of these characters but this book remains one of my all time top favorites because of the raw, tumultuous emotions it evoked from me. You will get angry and frustrated. You will laugh and cry and of course you will absolutely swoon for Kellan Kyle.
