Book Review | Tattered by Devney Perry

tatteredThea Landry has always known her place in modern-day society. It’s somewhere just above the trash can her mother dumped her in as a newborn but below the class where much comes easy. With her tattered shoes and bargain-bin clothes, her life has never been full of glamour.
So when a rich and charismatic man takes interest, she doesn’t fool herself into thinking their encounter is anything more than a one-night stand. Months later, she’s kicking herself for not getting his phone number. Or his last name. She’s given up hope of seeing him ever again.
Until one day, years later, Logan Kendrick waltzes into her life once more and turns everything she’s built upside down. This time around, she won’t make the same mistake. She’s going to fight to keep him in her life—not for herself. But for their daughter.

Another feel good emotional romance from Devney Perry! My heart is so full right now it’s not even funny. This is an amazing love story of two people from two different worlds that defied the odds to find their HEA.

Logan takes a business trip to Montana to look at a property his family foundation will be taking over. He ends up at a local bar and runs into a woman from his past and SURPRISE, he also finds out he has a daughter. Of note, Logan is known from The Clover Chapel (Jamison Valley #2) which I never read but I didn’t feel like I was missing anything while reading this book.

I fell in love with Logan from the start! This was a man of worth! He owned up to his responsibilities right away and his unconditional love for his daughter Charlie was so heartwarming. His need to make her happy was so endearing. I could feel my ovaries exploding! And don’t get me started on this little girl. I absolutely loved Charlie. She was a tomboy at heart and she absolutely stole mine.

Thea and Logan are from very different social classes. Thea essentially grew up with no family and next to nothing while Logan is at the top of the social class. They also have the geographical obstacle of living in different states which makes their chance of happiness that much harder. Logan is very career focused and he had to figure out how Thea and Charlie fit into his life. During this process he got a lot of things wrong and Thea is very careful of protecting Charlie, not wanting her to be disappointed by other people like she was growing up.

The chemistry of this couple is off the charts though and the pull to be together is too strong for them to deny. Don’t be fooled by this small town love story. This book was all kinds of sexy and the heat from this couple was so palpable.

This was just FEEL GOOD romance! You get a hero that was fighting to keep the family he never knew he had and a strong heroine that was secure enough to love herself and put the needs of her daughter first. I highly recommend you pick this one up!
