The Vetrov name comes with expectation.
My role in this world is simple: do as Father asks and live my life how he planned it.

My future is already written: run the empire.
Old Values. Old Rule. Old Money.
Until her.

Everything I do lacks purpose.
Everything I do is empty.
Women. Money. Power. It meant nothing.
Until her.

When the Volkov rose showed up at my home a disgraced package, hand-delivered by a Vasiliev prince, I began paving my own path.
I vowed to make her bloom once more.

She consumed me.
Her. Her. Her.

But you can’t love a rose and expect not to be damaged by her thorns.
She cut me too deep.
And I bled out.
My soul fled.
All that’s left is a cold, calculating monster.

I am Veniamin.
Volcanic. Victorious. Valiant. Vetrov.
When you enter my world to play games, prepare to lose.
In the end, I always find the thorn in my side, and I pluck it right out.

Ven was everything I was expecting and more!

I’m a rose to them. Delicate and sweet. (3)

Welcome to the world of the Russian Mafia First families. Ven is the heir to the Vetrov empire and like all the first families, their business is of the dark and illegal variety. Ven Vetrov, my bearded alpha male hero completely charmed me! He has had his eyes set on Diana Volkov from she was a teenager. She was always his rose but she was promised to another. However, now things have changed…

At the start of this book Diana has brought shame and disgrace on her family. Her father has turned his back on her and her once betrothed has shunned her. However, this is a heroine of strength and she picks herself up and proves herself worthy. I don’t want to give anything away but just know that against all odds, she put to shame all the men that were fighting to put her down. I freaking love women like Diana! Bad ass, sexy and doesn’t need a man to prove her worth.

I’m a rose to them. Delicate and sweet. (2)

The chemistry between Ven and Diana is nothing short of explosive. Together they are the perfect king and queen of their dark empire. Of note, while this is not a problem for me, (view spoiler)

We finally get to experience the danger and thrill of the actual V-games in this book. We also meet a few new characters that I’m looking forward to reading about in future books. And while Diana and Ven get their HEA, THAT ENDING! GAH! I’m now dying for Vas’s book! If you are looking for a sexy, dark mafia romance, I highly recommend this series.

About Ker Dukey

My books all tend to be darker romance, edge of you seat, angst filled reads. My advice to my readers when starting one of my titles…prepare for the unexpected.

I have always had a passion for storytelling, whether it be through lyrics or bed time stories with my sisters growing up.
My mum would always have a book in her hand when I was young and passed on her love for reading, inspiring me to venture into writing my own. I tend to have a darker edge to my writing. Not all love stories are made from light; some are created in darkness but are just as powerful and worth telling.

When I’m not lost in the world of characters I love spending time with my family. I’m a mum and that comes first in my life but when I do get down time I love attending music concerts or reading events with my younger sister.
