Book Review | Boys of Brayshaw High by Meagan Brandy

BOYS OF BRADSHAW HIGH“Girls like you aren’t exactly welcomed at a place like this, so keep your head down and look the other way.”
Those were the exact words of my social worker when she dropped me in my newest hellhole, a place for “troubled teens”.
I didn’t listen, and now I’m on their radar.
They expect me to play along in their games of hierarchy, to fall in line in the social order they’ve deemed me fit.
Too bad for them, I don’t follow rules.
Too bad for me, they’re determined to make sure I do.
Inconceivably attractive and treated like kings…these are the boys of Brayshaw High.
And I’m the girl who got in their way.

WHAT DID I JUST READ?!!! This book! I COULD NOT PUT THIS DOWN!! I dare you not to fall for the three kings of Brayshaw!

I don’t even know how to describe the experience that is this book. Brayshaw is a world unto itself where three kings reign. What they say goes and everyone falls into line with their rules. Everyone except the new girl Raven. She’s known as the trailer trash girl with a whore mom who has just recently been placed at the Bray Home for girls beause her mom lost custody. This heroine was so BAD-ASS! She’s sassy, fiesty, not afraid to get down in a fight and gave as good as she got.

She upsets the balance of power but the boys start to realize she is different from everyone else. She’s not using them for money or popularity. She has no ulterior motives to use them for personal gain and somehow she falls into their circle and they claim her as their own. If these guys are kings, then this girl is QUEEN! She earned their love, respect and protection.

“Careful, big man,”…”That sounds a lot like a king falling. The ground isn’t very soft at my feet.”

From the beginning Maddoc is the one that stepped up to claim Raven as his own and the chemistry between these two is SIZZLING! HAWT does not begin to describe the tension and the anticipation this author creates.

These guys grew up wealthy but there is an edginess and bad boy persona that surrounds them that makes them extremely sexy. I was so drawn to their dominance and arrogance. As we get to know them, you realize each of these guys has very distinct characteristics that make them endearing in their own way. Their personalites meshed so well and the three really were one. You can’t help but respect their loyalty to each other and Raven.

This book was sexy, angsty and drama filled! The dialogue was brilliant, the plot was intriguing and the character development was PERFECTION! I was clicking the pages of my kindle like a crazy lady to find out what happened next. This book was like crack and I feel like I need my next hit NOW! Yes there is a huge cliffy and you can guarantee I will be reading the next book ASAP.

Meagan is a candy crazed, jukebox junkie who tends to speak in lyrics. Born and raised in California, she is a married mother of three crazy boys who keep her bouncing from one sports field to another, depending on the season, and she wouldn’t have it any other way. Starbucks is her best friend and words are her sanity.
