A fun and sexy read with such loveable and relatable characters!

I love my fake romances and this is exactly how this one started. Drew needs a date for his ex-girlfriend’s wedding and on the spur of the moment he invites Alexa. Alexa is the gilr he literally just met after being stuck in the elevator during a power outage but there was definitely some chemistry for these two at first sight. This couple definitely make my favorite “meet cute” list!

Even after the wedding weekend has passed, Alexa and Drew cannot get enough of each other and very quickly the pretense of their relationship starts to emerge into very real feelings for each other. The banter was witty, sexy and sweet and I had a smile on my face for basically the entire book.

There is some angst but it’s really low. Drew has a playboy history and it took him till almost the end of the book to admit Alexa was more than a booty call for him. He was very frustrating in tghis way but I seriously couldn’t hate him. He was so darn sexy, romantic and sweet without even trying. Alexa also is dealing with insecurities. She sees that a white man like Drew has dated blond haired, slim, model like girls in the past. So accepting that Drew could love a short, curvy, black girl like herself was difficult to grasp. Drew was clearly attracted to her from the beginning but I could understand where she was coming from. I though this book was also quite sexy even though please keep in mind there is no real descriptive sex.

I have to mention how much I love books that celebrate food and this was one of them. I’m a foodie at heart and both Drew and Alexa enjoyed eating great food! From their first encounter to each time they got together, food is a huge component of their story and I enjoyed every single meal with them!

This was such a delightful book and I highly recommend for an amazing diverse read and for just an amazing love story period.
